Vtg Lionel Prewar NY Central No 38 Locomotive 2 Passenger Observation Stock Car

The locomotive
runs but it needs attention. The motor sounds strong and pulls this guy along the track once it gets going. However, we have noticed that the the main thing this guy is going to need mechanically is a wheel alignment and wheel cleaning. Other than that it is in seemingly running condition as of 2017.
4 piece lot, Lionel standard gauge prewar set, New York Central engine No. 38, stock car, pullman and observation car. All are seemingly in original condition.
One of the passenger cars is missing an axle with wheels. The couplers on the cars are in various conditions, some needing repair and/or replacing. The paint is scratched and chipped on all the pieces in this set. The doors on the stock car move freely on both sides.
This model was purchased in an estate auction and is being now being kept in a climate controlled pet free home.
