    Why the Turk's Head?
    The term Turk's Head Knot is derived from the originators of the knot - The Turk.  The Turkish sailor tied knots not only for functional purposes but for entertainment as well.  The Turk's Head Knot was created by one of these sailors and this beautiful know eventually came to adorn many items of his clothing, particularly his towel wraps and as a decorative fringe.  This series is called "Turk's Head" after the people who were so fond of knot tying and kept the art alive down through the generations.
