    *Today I am listing the latest installment of mouthpieces and other sax gear which I am selling on consignment for saxophonist Frank Catalano. For those of you who may not be familiar, Frank is a true heavy hitter in the jazz world and has been featured on multiple Grammy winning albums. He is also the quintessential gear hound, having amassed a collection of over 500 mouthpieces! He now endorses and plays Jody Jazz mouthpieces exclusively so he is purging some of his massive collection of mouthpieces he has acquired over many years, as well as other random gear.     his listing is for a Selmer (Paris) Reference 54 model alto saxophone neck. The Reference 54 is an homage to the famous Mark VI model saxophone, which cemented Selmer's reputation as the leader of the saxophone industry. The Reference 54 is not just a copy, but an improved revision of the VI. This neck, while designed for the Reference model, will work well on a Mark VI as well. If you do intend to use it on a VI, be advised that it may require professional 'fitting' of the tenon, as Mark VI's had variances in receiver width. This neck should fit on any Reference 54 without the need for adjustment, unless your horn's neck receiver is particularly worn. The tenon width of this neck is 24.5mm. These necks came in a few different finish options, this being the "dark lacquer" version. It looks very much like the way the lacquer on old Mark VI's tends to age to a deep golden/honey hue.
    This neck is in like new condition. It MIGHT have been play tested, but I'm not even sure of that because it doesn't feel like the cork has ever been greased up. It certainly has not had any regular use. There are no scratches, nor any other cosmetic issues. obviously there is no pull down or other damage. Any anomaly you might see in the pictures is simply a result of a reflection from the camera flash because it is so shiny.
