Makerbot Replicator 5th Gen plus extruders - AS IS

Description

Makerbot Replicator 5th Gen plus extruders - AS IS. This is being sold AS IS with additional smart extruders in the event one of the smart extruder fails.
Accessories: 3D printer, power cord, 1 working smart extruder, approx. 12 additional smart extruders, and build plate included.
Situation: The printer was working fine until one day the LCD screen just went dark and no sound or response was possible. Replicator no longer powers on when the switch is switch to the on position, the LCD screen remains dark and the backlight on the knob is lit white. So there is power going to the system, but some board has failed and can be repaired. If fixed, you have a fully operational printer. Additionally approximately 12 additional spare smart extruder is provided. They were bought from a school using high temp plastic and will not melt at conventional temps.
Smart Extruder Repair and Diagnosis:
1. If the extruder is prone to heat creep and jams, the cause is the teflon tube used to guide the filament into the heating block. Just cut a small piece of the common 3D printer filament teflon tubes to match the size inside the extruder and that will fix heat creep and jams.
2. Printer nozzles. They are currently gummed up with high temp plastic. Tear apart the smart extruder until the only thing left is the heating block and nozzle. Lightly blow torch the nozzle only and have a wrench at the ready to loosen the printing nozzle. After loosening the nozzle from the block, clean the block and heat the nozzle separately to dump out and melt the remaining plastic to clear the jam. You should have 12 additional working smart extruders to use. Good luck.
