Description
Personal items found in the pockets of British and Commonwealth soldiers - affectionately nicknamed "Tommies" Ideal for re-enactment or adding that vintage mid century detail touch to a costume, display or live-it-every day lifestyle.Swan Vestas matches - the same sized matches and box with distinctive packaging art - largely unchanged in 100 years. This is the current / modern pack and art with safety matches and strikes on both long sides. I will be looking to add period stickers to overlay 1940s box art in the near feature.
Victory Match Books - as found in the 14 man ration kits - these are original WW2 matches made in America and shipped around the world for the war effort - a collectors item. I will be looking to have these books reproduced for use in the near future.
All stone and oil lighters are new as indicated or are rebuilt to working condition with new wicks, flints and adjustments as needed - shipped in "sparking" conditions and dry - add fuel an use!
Ronson Lighters! The famous British brand carried throughout WW2 - these examples can be as made in Britain, USA and Canada post war and are the same as the WW2 examples which were bare nickel finish or painted a hammered dark grey / black finish. The Whirlwind model is the premium version with the retractable wind shield to protect the flame.
Brass No5 lighters were simpler in construction and also in production for over 70 years since just after WW1. These were bare brass for the working man / smoker and featured a three piece fusiform case for the pocket. In later years they were silver or gold (colour) plated (post WW2) and could be provided by and feature script for the major cigarette brands as gifts / rewards.
