This one is good looking.

You are looking at an interesting American Flyer ABA set from 1956. This is the highly sought after blue and yellow Santa Fe diesels, the ABA from 1956 that everyone wants. So colorful and unique.
This is one of those sets that collectors seek because of the uniqueness of the engines and of course the quality.
If you are a toy collector or an American Flyer collector, this is one of  those ABAs you really need to have. Or perhaps you have an American Flyer collector on your gift list, and you want to WOW them..

THE 4856 Santa Fe Blue Freight PA ABA Diesels
484/485/486
Even with the very few flaws, these are among the CLEANER blue Santa Fe PAs you will see. They are all the same shade of blue.
The 484 is the main powered unit,
and it is nice. The printing is sharp, and the patina of the paint is really nice. There are a few scratches visible in the yellow of the cab roof. There are a few decal stripe nicks. Really nice printing.
The yelloow striping is nice. The ladders are all complete. The silver trucks are beautiful. The springed pickups spring back like they should.
Most interestingly, the outer edges of the door vestibule on the back of the engine have some scratches. Since the paint looks the same as the rest of the paint, I think these are factory, but I could be wrong. Even with that and the scratches in the front yello, this is one very clean unit.
On the track, it gets power, runs smoothly, reverses and lights up. Nice running locomotive.
The 485 is the B unit.
There are a few miniscule light scratches in the plastic--generally requiring a bright light to see-- but this unit is nicer than most! Strong printing, great paint patina. Ladders, couplers, and trucks are all nice. The diesel roar is working and loud.
The 486 is the dummy A. Nose decal is complete. Strong lettering.  Good lettering, but a tad lighter factory stamping on one side than the others
. The pickies thing I can find is the paint rub in the yellow of one of the side vents.
But wow--a nice unit.
