    Description

    100 Deconstructed Tan Insulating Firebrick 9" x 4 3/8" x 2.5" Buckeye DP
(Dry Press -- if we did our research right, Buckeye Brick Foundry dry press bricks likely happened in the early 1900s, before the Roseville plant closed in 1907 though we're unfamiliar with Buckeye Brick Foundry's history and could be wrong).
There's about 200 Deconstructed Yellow Insulating Firebricks--
intact uncleaned--that we're hoping will continue their life in a second furnace, oven, or chimney.
At AGI Construction, we're exploring ways to move deconstruction and sustainability in construction forward. A big part of the goal is to preserve the history of our community in Detroit and create new paid opportunities to our workers, which include people from the community and returning citizens.
Any sales or donations made for these firebricks would go as a bonus toward the demolition and deconstruction team that took these bricks out of the chimney for the demolition/deconstruction project.
Comparable prices for Firebrick of similar dimensions (9" x 4.4" x 2.5") tend to cost about per brick.
We're offering 100 firebricks for 0 with an individual price of per brick.
The total available number of whole bricks may range up to 150 bricks and you're welcome to get the remaining 50 as well for free or we'll share those with community collectors/volunteer projects if they go unclaimed within the week.
